All diets usually base on low fat and sugar consumption which is one of the leading causes for overweight and should be avoided or reduced by all people not just those with excess pounds. However, no matter which diet is chosen it is very important to obtain enough nutrients with diet. Weight loss diet should include food rich with essential fatty acids which increase digestion and foods high in dietary fibers which make you full, inhibit high glucose (sugar) blood levels and slow down production of fat. As already mentioned every diet bases on avoiding foods high in fat and sugar but it is also recommendable to avoid alcohol because it increases appetite as well as processed foods which do not only contain a lot of salt or sugar and variety of additives but it also contains very little essential nutrients.
Besides choosing a diet in variety of different and often contradictory weight loss diets is also very important to eat slowly and rather smaller meals several times a day than one or two substantial meals. Since many people feel desire for food even when not being hungry it might help to wait for a moment and reconsider if you are really hungry or if you just want to eat something out of habit, boringness or any other reason which has nothing to do with actual hunger. To suppress the feeling of hunger might be helpful drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruits and green vegetables which can be practically eaten without limits. However, it is also very important to be patient and not to expect fast results and when reaching the normal body weight not to switch to former eating habits.
