Regular Exercise
Lack of exercise and physical activity due to the sedentary lifestyle is also a major factor in overweight problems. Thus adequate physical activity is essential in every weight loss program. Diet alone is not enough to lose excessive pounds successfully, while in some people who are losing weight without regular exercise often lose muscles instead of fat what can result problems with loose skin or a person soon regains the lost pounds and in some cases gain even more weight than having it before the diet.
If diet is combined with regular physical exercise weight loss program is much more effective. Adequate physical activity helps to use the calories which would otherwise remain stored in the body as fat. Besides that exercise results formation of the muscles which use more energy than the fat cells even when not being physically active. Adequate physical activity also improves one's well-being and also helps to withstand the desire for food.
Before starting any kind of exercise is important to consult with a doctor especially if being obese or having any kind of health problems. If you have not exercise already for a while you should start with easier activities such as a short walks in a park and proceed gradually to more straining exercises. If exercising on your own is boring to you sign up to different activities such as jogging, aerobics, swimming, dancing, etc. to find out what kind of physical activity is most appropriate and amusing for you. It will be a lot easier to remain physically active if having at least a little fun and enjoyment. Either way, regardless what kind of physical activity is chosen it is very important to exercise at least five times per week for 30 minutes. Besides that it will also help to take advantage of any opportunity to be physically active even if just using stairs instead of an elevator. And most important of all it is important to persist and not to leave out any planed activity no mater how tired you might come home from work or school.
